The Civilian Office of Police Accountability is investigating a shooting involving a police officer on the Southwest Side Monday morning.
CHICAGO (WLS) — An off-duty Chicago police officer suffered a minor injury after a shootout with armed suspects on the Southwest Side Monday morning, CPD said.
The shooting took place at about 4:18 a.m. in the 3700-block of West 67th Place.

Police said the off-duty officer was confronted by several armed suspects and there was an exchange of gunfire.
The suspects fled in a dark colored sedan, police said.
The officer suffered a minor injury and was transported to a hospital for observation, police said.
At the scene, police taped off the area and a backpack could be seen on the ground. There are also multiple vehicles that appear to have been damaged.
No other injuries were reported.
The Civilian Office of Police Accountability is investigating the incident. The officer will be placed on administrative leave for a minimum for 30 days.
