Staff at an Osborne Park health clinic have invited a serial “poo jogger” to visit one of their GPs after the runner was repeatedly caught defecating at the building’s doorstep over the past six months.

The woman first left an unwanted parcel at the clinic in December, but has since repeated the act three times.

Asbestos Diseases Society of Australia chief executive Melita Markey told 9News Perth it was an “extremely distressing” scene for clinic staff to come across in the morning.

The first instance was waved off as a digestive emergency.

“We thought, oh, someone’s obviously got in a bit of distress and did what they had to do,” Markey said.

But the jogger has returned several times since, and was almost caught mid-act by a passing car in March.

Markey said the jogger was putting the clinic’s staff and clients at risk – as well as themselves.

The clinic has been forced to call in professional cleaners, and have reported the jogger’s visits to police and the local council.

Markey said she believed the clinic was being targeted as a cry for help.

A 24/7 petrol station is a short distance away, and a public toilet can be found up the road, begging the question as to why the jogger didn’t change her route when nature called.

Clinical psychologist Grant Brecht told 9News Perth the repeat visits “could well be something to do with obsessive compulsive disorder”.

Markey invited the woman to come and visit the clinic if she was facing digestive issues.

“We’d love her to come in and see our GP, and see if we can do something to help her,” she said.
