A 63-year-old man was in custody in connection with a stabbing Wednesday in the 1900 block of St. Laurent Boulevard in the Elmvale Acres area.

Police were called at about 7:08 p.m. Upon arrival, officers located an injured victim.

The 63-year-old man was arrested at the scene without incident and charged with aggravated assault and possession of a dangerous weapon, police said.

The victim was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The investigation was being led by the East Neighbourhood Resource Team. Anyone with information was asked to contact the Ottawa Police Service at 613-236-1222.
