Ottawa police seeking suspect in Burnside Avenue assault

The Ottawa Police Service is looking for a suspect they believe is involved in an assault at Burnside Avenue last week, and they’re asking the public for help.

According to an OPS news release, the suspect allegedly assaulted the victim at 2:45 p.m. last Friday after arranging to meet the victim at a residence through an online dating website.

Police said the victim was injured, but didn’t provide details about the extent of their injuries.

Officers described the suspect as a Black man who is approximately six feet tall. Police noted he is in his mid-20s and was wearing a black winter coat with beige fur trim on the hood, a medical mask, dark pants and white sneakers at the time of the incident.
