Pedestrian struck, killed by freight train, Lake Forest police say​on March 15, 2025 at 12:36 am

LAKE FOREST, Ill. (WLS) — A person died after being struck by a train in the north suburbs, police said.

The incident happened near Waukegan and Everett, according to Lake Forest police.

Lake Forest police told ABC7 the person died from their injuries.

No other information regarding the victim was available.

Metra said its Milwaukee District North inbound and outbound trains were initially halted.

Since then, Metra said MD-N trains were moving with extensive delays
