A total lunar eclipse was visible across North America including Chicago Thursday night into Friday morning.

The moon passed through the Earth’s shadow overnight,  appearing to turn a rusty reddish color, a phenomenon known as a “blood moon.” This was the first time this has happened here since 2022.
