OAKLAND — Police here have identified two young men who were shot and killed shortly after showing up to a birthday party at a local community event center.

Kelin Sissoko, 19, of Richmond, and Kamel Carpenter, 20, of Berkeley, were shot and killed Jan. 10 at an event center on the 500 block of 55th Street in Oakland, police said. A 29-year-old man from San Pablo was also struck by gunfire but survived.
