The Calgary Police Service homicide unit is investigating a fatal shooting Saturday afternoon in the southwest community of Haysboro.

At about 4:30 p.m. Saturday, police responded to reports of gunshots in a parking garage in the 8700 block of Horton Road S.W.

“Upon arrival, police and emergency services personnel located a woman in her 20s suffering from what appeared to be gunshot wounds,” CPS said in an early evening media release. “Despite lifesaving efforts, the woman was declared deceased at the scene.”

Madisson Cobb, 23, was identified as the victim late Sunday morning.

Police added the incident is believed to be targeted. No one is in custody and the investigation is ongoing.

Police believe a white Toyota RAV4, with British Columbia licence plate PP322J, is connected to the incident. It is suspected to have been parked on the fourth level of the parking garage before the shooting, and CCTV footage showed the vehicle leaving the scene.

An autopsy has been scheduled for Tuesday.

Police ask anyone who may have had contact with Cobb prior to her death, witnessed the incident, or has dashcam or CCTV footage from the area — including westbound along Horton Road S.W. and Heritage Drive S.W. — at the time of the shooting to contact police at 403-266-1234.
