Police officers evacuated Costco and closed the area on Wednesday in Davie.

According to Sgt. Kelvin Urbaez, a spokesman of the Davie Police Department, police officers were “investigating a suspicious incident at the store at 1890 S. University Dr.

“Officers are in the process of checking the interior as a precaution,” Urbaez wrote in a statement. “At this time, we are not actively searching for anyone.”

Urbaez said the police officers plan to allow everyone back in after police officers deem the building safe.
