York Regional Police said officers responded around 2:15 a.m. to a home in the area of Athabasca Dr. and Hunterwood Chase are after it was reported four suspects forced their way into the residence using a hammer, confronted the home owner and demanded keys to vehicles.
Police said at least one suspect was armed with a firearm but the suspects were unable to locate any vehicle keys and fled the scene in a waiting dark-coloured sedan.

A security video shows two of the four suspects attempting to kick in the front door before they resort to a hammer on what sounds like glass next to the door.

The first suspect is described as a male, wearing a black hooded sweater, black Adidas pants, black Adidas shoes, a black face covering, black gloves, a black backpack and carrying a hammer.
Suspect No. 2 is described as a male, wearing a black hooded sweater, dark pants, a black face covering, blue gloves, dark-colored shoes and carrying a red “Good Life” gym bag.
Suspect No. 3 is described as a male, wearing a black Nike Tech hoodie, black pants, black/white high-top shoes, a black face covering, light-coloured gloves and carrying a black handgun.
The fourth suspect is described as a male, wearing a black Nike Tech hoodie and black pants, white socks, dark colored shoes, a black face covering and light-coloured gloves.
There is no description available for suspect No. 5 they remained in the suspect vehicle.
