Police hope the public can help identify a man who attempted to enter a northwest Calgary home by “kicking” the front door.

Around 3 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 25, a victim was inside her residence in the 800 block of 24th Avenue N.W. in the community of Mount Pleasant, when she received a notification on her phone indicating someone was at the front door.

“The victim did not recognize the man and did not open the door,” said CPS in a Tuesday release.

“Shortly after, it is believed the man began kicking the front door and using a sharp object to try and gain entry to the home.”

The suspect was unable to gain access to the home and police believe they fled in a silver 2006 Ford Escape.

Police describe the male suspect as 40 to 60 years old, with a slim build and long, grey hair styled in a ponytail.

He was last seen wearing a denim jacket, a navy blue shirt, dark-coloured pants, sunglasses, and black Nike gloves.
