“We’re constantly exploring ways to find new audiences for Murdoch Mysteries. Tapping into the Bravo universe, and the massive cultural impact of the Real Housewives franchise, was an obvious choice,” said Christina Jennings, chairman and president of Murdoch Mysteries production company Shaftesbury, told Postmedia in a email. “We are thrilled to have had Luann join us this season. Fans of Luann’s will be impressed by her performance which sees her take on something completely different in this scripted role.”

Question: How did Murdoch Mysteries come about?
Article content
Answer: I first heard about the opportunity at the meet and greet for my Toronto cabaret show in fall 2023, when two people from Murdoch approached me about a scripted role. It was a brief conversation, but they followed up with my team months later after the series was renewed for its 18th season. The timing aligned with my tour schedule, so when I returned to Toronto for my Christmas show late last year, I used my day off to stick around and film the scene they had written for me.

Q: Who do you play?
Article content
A: Noelle Victoria. I was pleasantly surprised when they decided to use my children’s names for the character, Noel and Victoria, and I became Noelle Victoria.

Q: What was the Murdoch Mysteries experience like?
Article content
A: It was wonderful, I always love to do some acting when I get a chance to. I’ve never played a character before in a period piece, so that was super cool.

Q: You have returned to the Bravo universe with the new show Love Hotel. What can you tell us about that?
Article content
A: Love Hotel is my new show I’m starring in for Bravo. They sent four single housewives (de Lesseps, Gizelle Bryant, Ashley Darby and Shannon Storms Beador), on a quest to find love. We stayed in a beautiful hotel in Los Cabos, Mexico, and they brought in some pretty great eligible bachelors. What could go wrong there?! Love Hotel will be premiering on Sunday April 27th. So please join us for that journey and stay tuned to see who gets lucky in love.
