A fire broke out in a San Jose home early Saturday, displacing seven residents and killing a cat, according to officials.

The fire was reported at 5:12 a.m. at a two-story, single-family home on the 600 block of Woodland Terrace, located near the Naglee Park neighborhood and Interstate 280.

Firefighters were able to extinguish the flames by 5:42 a.m., according to an X post from the San Jose Fire Department. No residents or firefighters were injured.

Multiple crews responded to the incident, with six fire engines sent to the scene.

The Red Cross is helping the displaced residents.

A fire in a San Jose home that firefighters reported as extinguished early Saturday morning reignited Saturday evening, forcing authorities to evacuate a nearby house as a precaution, officials said.

No residents or firefighters were injured, but the fire displaced seven people and killed a cat.

The fire at a two-story, single-family home on the 600 block of Woodland Terrace, located near the Naglee Park neighborhood and Interstate 280, was reported to have reignited at 5:30 p.m, according to a spokesperson for the San Jose Fire Department. Firefighters were redeployed to put out the first-alarm fire.

The fire was originally reported at 5:12 a.m. Multiple crews responded to the incident, with six fire engines sent to the scene. Firefighters extinguished the flames by 5:42 a.m., according to an X post by the San Jose Fire Department.
