Saquon Barkley propels Eagles to NFC Championship Game: Giants X reactson January 20, 2025 at 10:33 am

The Philadelphia Eagles will host the NFC Championship Game thanks to a historical performance by running back Saquon Barkley, who exploded for 232 total yards and two touchdowns on Sunday.

Barkley had back-breaking runs of 62 yards and 78 yards to put the game on ice, both literally and figuratively. And several of his former New York Giants teammates were on hand cheering for their long-time rivals.

It was a tough watch for Giants fans, who could do nothing but marvel at the team’s former captain and offensive superstar. He’s doing for the Eagles what they always wished for him with the Giants.

But poor roster building and a misevaluation of the running back market by general manager Joe Schoen prevented that. Even if Barkley had re-signed, neither he nor the Giants would be where the Eagles are right now.

Despite that reality, Giants fans couldn’t resist the opportunity to vent their frustrations on Sunday afternoon. Some celebrated the player but most let their true feelings be known.

Good for Washington. The Giants aren’t even a smidge close to being relevant. They are the most pathetic organization in the NFL

After seeing two NFC East teams advance in the playoffs, how can you be confident in the New York Giants future as a franchise?
The NFC East out lapped us, and I’m not sure how we catch up.
This sucks!

As a Giants fan watching Hard Knocks & then how this 100th anniversary season went, there was no other way for the NFC Championship game to go than Saquon on the Eagles hosting Daniels on Washington. Just sums it all up. pic.twitter.com/h2hYCpIDJY

The #Giants set out to close the gap between themselves & the rest of the NFC East three years ago.
Instead they handed the #Eagles the player they needed to make a Super Bowl run & watched the #Commanders land Jayden Daniels.
That’s worth losing sleep over.
