Child abuse detectives were investigating a 14-year-old boy’s death in Seattle’s Beacon Hill neighborhood Thursday, and his 29-year-old mother was arrested on suspicion of homicide.
Seattle police responded to a domestic violence altercation in the 4000 block of 14th Avenue South around 2:15 p.m. Police said in a news release that patrol officers found the boy unresponsive with multiple injuries.
The Seattle Fire Department gave medical aid and took the boy to Harborview Medical Center in critical condition, and he died at the hospital.
The boy’s mother was arrested for investigation of homicide and booked into the King County Jail.
Detectives with the homicide and sexual assault and child abuse units are investigating.
