Captain Brady Tkachuk was on the bench but didn’t play the final six minutes and 36 seconds of the club’s 6-3 victory over the Boston Bruins on Thursday night at the Canadian Tire Centre.
Coach Travis Green told reporters after the club’s fifth straight win that Tkachuk had suffered a hip injury.

“He tweaked his hip a little but I expect he’ll be all right,” Green said.
Tkachuk stayed on the bench to watch the final few minutes of the third period but this is cause for concern.
He missed two games with Ottawa after returning from the 4 Nations Face-Off with an undisclosed ailment he suffered in the final round-robin game of the tournament against Sweden.
Tkachuk was noticeably limping when he walked into Boston’s TD Garden for the final but played more than 19 minutes against Canada in Team USA’s loss.
