SHELBOURNE boss Damien Duff sweetly wished his mother a happy birthday in a post-match interview on Friday night.
The former Ireland star was speaking after his side’s draw against St Patrick’s Athletic.

In the brief post-match interview with Virgin Media Sport, Damien Duff began by extending birthday wishes to his mother, Mary.
The former Premier League winner thanked her before wishing her a 75th birthday.
He humorously noted that she might have enjoyed a few glasses of red wine and playfully remarked that she would “kill him” for mentioning it.
He added that it was a good day for her, the family, and the club.
“I’d like to give a shout out to my Mam. She’s 75 today. She’s having a party, I couldn’t be there. I’ll see you shortly love.”
“Like most Irish boys, I’d be lost without her. I love you, love.”
“Am I happy with the point? To a point, yes.”
Duff has always shared a close bond with his mother, Mary.
The Rathfarnham native has often spoke of his appreciation for her support throughout his life and career.
In the game itself, Shelbourne were held to a goalless draw by a stubborn St Patrick’s Athletic side at Richmond Park.
With seven first-team players missing, St Pat’s lacked their usual fluency, despite enjoying the bulk of possession.
Kian Leavy nearly snatched a late winner against his former side but was denied by Conor Kearns.
Stephen Kenny’s men failed to capitalise on their chances, with Shels putting bodies on the line to block a number of goal-bound efforts.
St Pat’s were also forced into a late change when Simon Power withdrew injured during the warm-up, replaced by Jake Mulraney.
Despite moments of promise, including bright play from Mason Melia and Chris Forrester, the hosts lacked a cutting edge.
At the other end, Joseph Anang made a string of important saves to keep the scores level.
