Strictly cast divide revealed as pro dancers distance themselves from Wynne after sexual jibe

STRICTLY’s latest scandal has divided the cast in two – with some cast members stepping away from Wynne Evans.

The GoCompare star caused a stir among the team after it was revealed he made an inappropriate comment about long-time star Janette Manrara.

Wynne has cut a low figure since the scandal broke – apologising for the ‘inappropriate’ comment[/caption]

During a photocall for the Strictly tour, Wynne made a crude joke to EastEnders’ Jamie Borthwick using the term “spit roast” when Janette stood in between them.

While he has since apologised for the comment, the moment has left the stars split between sides – with some wanting to distance themselves from him in the aftermath.

Others have rallied around him, particularly for his birthday, which he celebrated yesterday.

A source told The Sun: “Some members of the pro team are not impressed by what has gone on and have made it clear they don’t really want to be friends with Wynne.

“They have removed themselves from the main group and have stopped hanging out with him.

“It’s all very sad, but people feel they have to protect themselves. “

The latest comments come after it was revealed that some of the professional dancers had removed him from their social media and unfollowing him on Instagram.

However, Janette and her husband, fellow pro Aljaz Skorjanec, both still follow him at the time of writing.

When the incident was made public, Wynne told The Mail on Sunday: “My language was inappropriate and unacceptable, for which I sincerely apologise.”

BBC and Strictly Live producers said: “We have made it clear to Wynne we do not tolerate such behaviour on tour.”

Despite the incident, Katya has continued to stand by Wynne and support him, sharing a photo declaring him “tour fam” in a picture from a night at the pub.

The black-and-white photograph shows Wynne holding his hand over Jamie Borthwick’s eyes, while Tasha Ghouri cuddles up to him.

Janette, who was presenting the tour, took a day off after allegedly bumping her head in the night – and appeared on social media with her mum to assure fans she was OK after the accident.

“I couldn’t be on stage, and I couldn’t be making you all happy and smiling, if it wasn’t for you,” she gushed before kissing her mum.

Janette was reportedly not aware of the comment when it was made, only being alerted ahead of the story breaking.

Wynne has reportedly accepted an offer by the BBC to take some time away from his BBC Radio Wales show.

He is being replaced on BBC Radio Wales by comic Robin Windsor.

Wynne Evans’ Strictly scandals

‘Grope’

Wynne encountered a backlash after his Strictly pro partner Katya was filmed removing his hand from her waist.

Fans insisted she looked uncomfortable as she moved it away – but Katya later insisted there was no problem.

In joke

They then sparked further fury, when she was seen refusing to high-five the Opera singer.

The duo were quick to issue a video apology and insisted it was all an innocent “inside joke”.

Crude joke

Wynne came under fire for allegedly telling a “crude” joke to one of the show’s make-up artists.

Insiders claim the opera star made a joke that the folds of his double chin “looked like a vagina”.

A source said: “It was a bit of a vulgar dad joke.”

Vile comment

Wynne was recorded suggesting a three-way sex session with presenter Janette Manrara, using the term “spit roast”.

His remark came at a photocall to launch the Strictly live tour, which pro Janette, 41, is hosting.

He reportedly pulled a suggestive face at actor Jamie Borthwick as Janette moved between them — which is when Evans allegedly made the joke.

Wynne has apologised saying: “My language was inappropriate and unacceptable, for which I sincerely apologise.”
