A youth and three adults were charged by Valleyview RCMP following a drug bust in Sturgeon Lake Cree Nation.

Valleyview RCMP arrested four people and seized drugs, weapons and ammunition after they executed a search warrant on Sturgeon Lake Cree Nation on Oct. 6.

Officers seized 70 grams of cocaine, more than $7,500 in Canadian currency, one shotgun, three pistols, ammunition, and drug trafficking paraphernalia.

Four people were charged: 18-year-old Hayden Halcrow from High Prairie, 31-year-old Jamie Lee Pickard from Edmonton, 29-year-old Jeneva Choice from Valleyview and a 16-year-old youth who was not named, were arrested.

All four were charged with possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking, as well as a failure to comply with a court order. Chowace faces an additional 15 charges that were not listed in the Oct. 7 media release.

All four appeared before a justice of the peace and were remanded into custody. Halcrow, Chowace and Pickard are to appear before the Alberta Court of Justice in Edmonton on Oct. 9, while the youth will appear before the same court on Oct. 8, 2025.
