Jerell Thomas, the man accused of shooting and killing Oak Park Detective Allan Reddins, appeared in court on Friday; bodycam is expected soon.

OAK PARK, Ill. (WLS) — The man accused of shooting and killing Oak Park Detective Allan Reddins appeared in court on Friday.

Suspect Jerell Thomas was expected to be arraigned on Friday morning.

He was brought into the courtroom in a wheelchair.

Thomas was injured in a shootout with police back in November.

His case was transferred to a different court.

He’ll be back in court next week.

Bodycam video of the shooting is expected to be released next week.

Police say in late November, officers approached Thomas after they saw him leave a bank with a gun.

Thomas opened fire, critically injuring Reddins, who died hours later.

Thomas faces charges, including first-degree murder.
