Highway patrol officers were a little perplexed by an offender caught in Tuesday’s rush hour.

“If you are already a suspended driver, it’s likely not a great idea to draw attention to yourself by speeding and driving alone in the HOV lane,” OPP said in a release on the incident.

This G2 driver was stopped by OPP during rush hour, travelling at 138 km/h on Highway 417 near Moodie Drive.

The vehicle, which belonged to the driver’s father, was impounded for seven days as well.

The driver now faces a minimum $2,000 fine for driving while under suspension, as well as nearly $400 in fines and seven demerit points for his other violations.
