TARRANT COUNTY, Texas — Tarrant County Public Health (TCPH) announced Friday that a person who visited two Grapevine locations between March 28 and 30 has tested positive for measles.

According to a news release from TCPH, the person visited Great Wolf Lodge, located at 100 Great Wolf Drive, between early Friday, March 28 and Sunday, March 30. TCPH said the person also walked around Grapevine Mills Mall and ate at the food court on Saturday, March 29.

“If you were at either of these locations during the specified dates and are not vaccinated against measles or are unsure of your immunity, you may be at risk of contracting measles,” TCPH said in the news release.

TCPH said that it is working with the Texas Department of Health Services Regional Office and others to monitor the situation.

More than 450 cases of measles have been reported in Texas, including six here in North Texas, and a child in Lubbock has died from the virus, health officials said.

On March 13, officials with the Paris-Lamar County Health District confirmed five cases of measles, and Rockwall County reported one case in late February.

If you were exposed at the venues during the dates listed, TCPH recommends that you monitor yourself for measles symptoms through April 20. These symptoms include a fever above 101 degrees, cough, runny nose or conjunctivitis, followed by a red, blotchy rash that begins at the hairline and behind the ears, then goes further down the body.

TCPH said if you experience any of these symptoms, stay home and call your healthcare provider for guidance.
