DALLAS — Two people were killed and one person was injured in a shooting overnight at a North Texas gas station, Arlington police said.
Officers responded to a shooting call around 10:06 p.m. Saturday to a QuikTrip in the 5600 block of South Cooper Street, police said in a press release. Police found three men shot on the scene, officials said.
Officers found a 19-year-old and a 20-year-old man with gunshot wounds lying unresponsive in the parking lot, according to the release. Both men were taken to the hospital, where they died, police said.
The 20-year-old man has been identified as Omed Abdal by the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office.
A third victim, a 19-year-old man, was shot in the foot and taken to a hospital where he was treated and released, police said.
Multiple people involved in the incident, including the suspect, were still on the scene when officers arrived, police said. Police arrested 17-year-old Saman Islam and charged him with one count of capital murder and one count of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, officials said.
Investigators found that two groups got into a physical fight in the parking lot, and the suspect allegedly retrieved a gun from his vehicle and fired multiple rounds toward the victims, the release states. It’s unclear who started the fight, police said.
