Teenage girl hospitalized after being shot in Fort Lauderdale​on February 18, 2025 at 1:44 am

A 16-year-old girl was rushed to the hospital with possible life-threatening injuries after a shooting occurred Monday evening in Fort Lauderdale, authorities said.

According to Fort Lauderdale police, officers responded to reports of a shooting just before 7:30 p.m. near the 1500 block of Northwest Eighth Avenue.

Police said the victim was found with multiple gunshot wounds and was rushed to Broward Health Medical Center.

Local 10′s Christian De La Rosa was at the scene where officers, armed with long guns, were moving from house to house as they searched for a possible suspect.

Witnesses reported a possible fight before shots rang out, though authorities have not confirmed the details.

Family members of the victim were heard screaming in agony at the scene after receiving a phone call.

No arrests in connection with the shooting have been made at this time.
