EXCLUSIVE: Warm Bodies and A Discovery Of Witches actress Teresa Palmer has been set to star with Russell Crowe, Nina Dobrev and Kartiah Vergara in action-thriller Bear Country, which is currently filming in Australia.
Helmed by Derrick Borte, Bear Country follows an ageing but formidable club owner, Manco Kapak (Crowe), who is robbed by a masked gunman, leaving his aspirations of selling his club and riding off into the sunset alongside his razor sharp girlfriend Sunny (Palmer) more distant than ever. Palmer has the female lead role.
Pic is produced by Mark Fasano of Nickel City Pictures, Jeffrey Greenstein of A Higher Standard, Deborah Glover of G2 Dispatch, and Mark Bower and Bruno Music of Life & Soul Pictures.

Borte, alongside Daniel Forte (American Dreamer), wrote the screenplay based on the Thomas Perry novel, Strip. We first revealed the project last year with A Higher Standard selling in Cannes.
Palmer will next be seen starring in the limited series The Family Next Door, and the drama series The Last Anniversary, based on the novel by Liane Moriarty and executive-produced by Nicole Kidman. She recently starred in rom-com Addition, which premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival, and David Leitch’s The Fall Guy.
Over the weekend, she received the Excellence in Film & Television Award at the 2025 G’Day USA Arts Gala at the Skirball Center in LA. The event celebrates the American Australian relationship by highlighting Australian creatives in the U.S.
Palmer is repped by CAA, Entertainment 360, Shanahan Management and Sloane Offer.
