Dr. Jane Goodall will take over the Jack Singer Concert Hall at Arts Commons for an evening exploring her life spent studying chimpanzees. The presentation will be followed by a conversation with the audience, with a portion of the proceeds from ticket sales going to the Jane Goodall Institute of Canada, a charitable organization dedicated to conservation programs.

Sheldon Smithens, star of Canadian Pickers, will be bringing his talents to Heritage Park in April to host live auctions for the Heritage Park Roadshow. In addition to auctions, the roadshow will also feature rare antiques on display and expert appraisals. On the final day of the Roadshow, April 20 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., over 400 vehicles will be on display for free in the parking lot for the Spring Thaw Car Show.

Easter egg hunt for dogs

Thousands of colourful eggs will be hidden around Calaway Park’s south field, filled with prize tokens and a dog treat. Leashed dogs will search for the eggs with the assistance of their humans, and each dog participant will receive a gift bag. All funds raised from the event through pledges will support Nartional Service Dogs programs. The more pledges participants collect, the more prizes they can win.
