A dry shampoo that has a legion of fans has a scent so popular that it has been released as a standalone perfume for the hair and body.
Fans of the shampoo for second (or third) day hair say they love it because it leaves little or no white powdery residue on the roots, a problem for anyone with brown or black hair.
It’s affordable too, and created by a celebrity hairdresser, and it’s only the second time something like this has happened in the beauty business.
Dry Shampoo
The dry shampoo is called The Reset from Arkive, and it’s currently on sale at M&S, down from €19 to €15.20 for a large 200ml tin. Leading London stylist Adam Reed is its creator, and he has form in the haircare world as he previously launched Percy & Reed with Paul Percival.
Arkive is Adam’s baby, and it is full of very cool styling and cleansing buys. But, fans seem to have been drawn to The Reset, and pretty much everywhere you read a review, it mentions the face that the powder dry shampoo doesn’t leave dark hair looking white or grey, and that it smells fantastic.
Shampoo To Scent
Leading American brand Oribe had a similar story with its Gold Lust Dry Shampoo. This was so adored by people for its ‘Côte d’Azur’ signature scent of lychee and watermelon that the brand issued it as a limited run perfume.
It sold out rapidly, much like the dry shampoo does too, because when people see it back in stock they buy two or three at a time.,
No One Elsie EDP
It seems the No One Elsie fragrance of Adam’s dry shampoo was inspired by his grandmother and her English garden greenhouse. It has notes of rhubarb (stunning in perfume), tomato leaf, redcurrant, honeysuckle, Palo Santo, vetiver and incense.
The fragrance has a touch of nourishing baobab oil inside, and it has been created for use as an eau de parfum for the body and hair. It sounds fresh and a little tart with that rhubarb note, but safe to say, fans of the dry shampoo are lapping it up. It too is on sale, down from €40 to €32 at M&S for a 50ml bottle.
