Trump takes aim at Taylor Swift in nasty social media post as she is booed at the Super Bowl

President Donald Trump took to social media to mock Taylor Swift after leaving the Super Bowl early, following the Kansas City Chiefs’ crushing 40-14 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles.

Trump, who had predicted a Chiefs victory, exited the New Orleans Superdome shortly after halftime as the reigning champions struggled against the Eagles.

However, before leaving, he shared a social media post highlighting the contrast between the warm reception he received from the crowd and the boos aimed at Swift when she appeared on the stadium’s big screen.

The social media jab added to an already disappointing night for Swift, whose boyfriend, Chiefs star Travis Kelce, suffered a devastating defeat. On Friday night the couple was spotted dining at a French restaurant in New Orleans and were joined by quarterback Patrick Mahomes and his wife, Brittany, in what was an unexpected outing so close to game day.

While there was no indication that any team rules were violated, the timing of the evening raised eyebrows, as such public outings are rare this close to a Super Bowl and it may not have gone down well with the fans.

Trump’s post also reignited his long-running feud with the pop icon, who has publicly endorsed Joe Biden and Kamala Harris in previous elections.

The former president has openly criticised Swift in the past, declaring his disdain for the singer in September after she reaffirmed her support for Harris urging her millions of followers to register to vote ahead of the 2024 election.

Trump’s early departure from the Super Bowl did not come as a surprise, though he made his presence known before the game. The former president walked onto the field alongside his children Ivanka and Eric, greeting players, law enforcement, and emergency responders.

Despite his previous praise for Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes and his belief that the team would secure a third consecutive Super Bowl title, Trump’s prediction did not hold.

The Eagles, who famously snubbed a White House visit after their 2018 Super Bowl win, delivered a dominant performance, leaving Chiefs fans—including Swift—disheartened.
