Investigators need help locating a vehicle thought to have been involved in an aggravated assault that occurred downtown late last year.

They are hoping an image of the suspect vehicle, released Wednesday, can lead them to the assailant.
Toronto Police say the victim was initially hit by a car while crossing College St. at Augusta Ave. – west of Spadina Ave. – around 2 a.m. on Dec. 1, 2024.
“The male driver got out of his car and began yelling at the victim and challenged the victim to a fight,” Const. Ashley Visser said in a statement.

She said the driver parked his car on nearby Major St. before he and his female passenger hopped out.
“The victim approached the male,” Visser said. “The male brandished a knife and slashed the victim.”

The driver and his passenger got back into their car and fled, she said, adding the victim suffered “life-altering injuries.”
The man who was driving the car has brown skin and is thought to be around 25 years old, about 5-foot-8 and unshaven with long hair. He was wearing an orange or brown jacket.
The female passenger is white with long black hair.

The vehicle is described as possibly a light-coloured, four-door, older-model Mercedes-Benz E coupe.
