One person is dead and a second person remains in hospital with serious injuries following a head-on collision involving a motorcycle and an SUV on County Road 18 near Chapel Road in the Cornwall area.

Firest responders were called at about 4 p.m. Saturday after a motorcycle carrying two people was struck by an SUV.

The victim was identified only as 47-year-old male from Martintown, South Glengarry.

A 14-year-old youth on the motorcycle sustained serious injuries and remains in hospital.

The driver of the SUV has been arrested in connection with this incident, police said.
