And they have recalled the same product in the dark chocolate version.
It came after fears that the chocolate could leave a “burning sensation” in the mouth.
The affected batch was the 140g bags, which have now been pulled off shelves.
The batch code for the item is 8509.
Consumers have been urged not to eat the affected batch of chocolates.
Retailers have been advised to issue point of sale notices.
In a message, the Food Safety Authority said: “Lidl is recalling the above batch of its Alpenfest Style Salted Mini Pretzels Milk Chocolate and Alpenfest Style Salted Mini Pretzels Dark Chocolate as it may cause a burning sensation in the mouth when consumed.
“Recall notices will be displayed at point-of-sale.”
Meanwhile, parents have been issued a major warning about a popular children‘s product.
A recall warning was issued about a pair of cartoon themed sandals that are sold on Temu.
The Competition and Consumer Protection Commission issued the recall due to safety concerns.
The sandals contain an excessive amount of lead and phthalates, chemicals used to make the shoes harder and easier to wear.
But these chemicals have been linked to various health concerns, especially in children.
The CCPC said: “The risk reported to CCPC is chemical due to the presence of banned/restricted chemicals; Phthalates, Extractable Cadmium and lead, which can harm children’s health by potentially damaging their reproductive system.”
The brand is Jiageya and it was sold on the Temu platform.
The batch number is JGY240128168.
The model number and batch number are unknown.
The CCPC advised parents to take the item away from children and stop using it straight away.
They said: “Temu has contacted affected consumers regarding this recall on behalf of the seller, and reimbursements have been issued to those impacted.
“If you have not received a refund or have further questions or concerns about this product, please contact Temu’s Dedicated Customer Service team.”
