Woman critically injured in Portage Park hit-and-run, police say​on March 13, 2025 at 1:37 pm

A 56-year-old woman was critically injured following a hit-and-run in the Portage Park neighborhood Wednesday night, according to Chicago Police.

The woman was struck in the 5900 block of West Irving Park Road around 7:49 p.m. A black SUV was traveling westbound on the street when it struck the victim in a crosswalk, police said.

The individual in the vehicle did not stop after the collision. Police said the victim sustained trauma to the body and was transported to Lutheran General Hospital, where she is listed in critical condition.

No one is in custody.
