The woman, who was in her 20s, was taken to hospital where she was pronounced deceased.

The pick-up truck driver did not suffer any injuries and remained at the scene, police said.

The investigation is ongoing, and the OPS is asking witnesses and anyone with dashcam or surveillance footage of the incident to call police at 613-236-1222 ext. 2345.

In a statement on Bluesky, Somerset ward Coun. Ariel Troster said she was heartbroken after she learned about the incident.

“We need to move quickly to fix all of the most dangerous intersections in our city,” her post to the social media site BlueSky read.
