Deputies found a 42-year-old woman dead at a Key Largo resort Tuesday morning and said she was the victim of a homicide.
Authorities said they learned from the victim’s daughter and friends that she drove to the Florida Keys from Miami-Dade County to meet a man.
He’s now considered a person of interest and was “at large” as of noon.
According to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office, the woman was reported missing on Monday after her daughter stopped hearing from her.
Deputies said when they went to the Amoray Dive Resort at 104250 Overseas Highway, they found her body.
Authorities said the woman’s next of kin has been notified. She has not yet been publicly identified.
Deputies have not yet named the person of interest either, but were expected to Tuesday afternoon.
