CUPW NEEDS TO TEMPER DEMANDS

I consider myself reasonably intelligent, yet, try as I might, I’m unable to understand who is being more ridiculous: the leadership of the Canadian Union of Postal Workers (CUPW) or the members who tolerate or even support their union leaders’ nonsense.

The president of CUPW was quoted as saying they can’t accept the government’s attack on good-paying jobs. Does CUPW realize Canada Post is bleeding cash faster than someone’s slashed jugular, carotids and aorta combined? Both circumstances are invariably fatal to business and human alike.

CUPW also claims government’s latest moves aren’t based on recommendations from any report, but on the bidding of Canada Post management. Irrelevant! The fiscal situation demands these same actions regardless of from where or whom they originate. CUPW’s ideological (should that be illogical?) belief that Canada Post is a limitless well of cash to satisfy their demands is insane.

Will CUPW’s bargaining team and members come to their senses and stop activities that are further eroding Canada Post’s business volumes? It’s time demands were reasonable and aligned with Canada Post’s financial reality.

If CUPW doesn’t soon temper demands, it’ll find out there will no longer be any business to support any jobs — well paid or otherwise — at Canada Post. Talk about digging your own grave!

CUPW MUST ACCEPT REALITY

Another postal strike? I am amazed that yet another strike has been called by CUPW. Why can’t these people accept the simple reality that hard times need hard choices? Besides the gross ongoing loss of keeping things as they want, they do not accept any needed downsizing to keep the mail system going.

GULLIBLE CANADIANS

Canadians fell prey to the Liberal Party’s pre-election strategy.

Namely that Mark Carney is the candidate who can best protect Canada from Donald Trump’s threat to take over Canada.

How facetious an idea and how gullible of the Canadian voters.

Pierre Poilievre was and still is our best candidate by far to lead our country and lead it back to being respected.
