KEEP BOOZE OUT OF OUR PARKS

Parks are public places for everyone. Adults who run, children who play. Dog walkers. Many other activities. Alcohol consumption there should not be allowed. Bottles left on site, and perhaps drunken behaviour, are dreadful examples for children. Even possibly dangerous.

Public venues are not the place for this. There are many places for adults to drink: taverns, bars, restaurants and homes. The city should never allow this in parks. I’m 100 per cent against it.

INDEED, SEND SOMEONE A POSTCARD

Re: A postcard revival? Letter to the editor, online, June 5

I agree with the sentiments expressed by letter-writer Mike Carroccetto about reducing prices for postcards. It used to be like that. I recently sent one to someone from Florida after visiting a treasure hunt museum that had the sites on it. A picture was not as good as this postcard and it was a nice treat for them to get something other than a bill in the mail.

TRUMP-MUSK FEUD NO SURPRISE

Re: KINSELLA: World rivetted by Trump-Musk bromance implosion, online, June 7

With both U.S. President Donald Trump and Elon Musk having massive egos, it was predictable that they would eventually collide. Trump brought in Musk to head up a new group, DOGE (Department of Government Efficiency).

What initiated this feud was Musk becoming annoyed at Trump for wanting to pass a massive spending bill, which he considered as being against what he was brought in to solve.

Things must be really bad as Musk recently alleged that Trump was named in the Jeffrey Epstein files. Trump says he does not want to speak with Musk, so the bromance is obviously over.
