Alberta is paradise compared to the Rat Race of Southern Ontario. Connor will be re-signing in Edmonton, enjoying his wonderfully glorious life here.

By the way, Alberta is also the only province in Canada that is literally rat-free.

PRAYER SHOULD BE PRIVATE

Re: Quebec planning ban on prayer in public, Aug. 29

To me, this is a no-brainer, and this legislation should be nationwide. In my mind, praying in the streets is being used to intimidate others. Prayer belongs in the home or in one’s place of worship and not in public.

Streets are being blocked (oh, the outrage about that during the convoy protest), and this is not a one-off as it’s being done everywhere.

While Quebec’s “advisory board” recommends that municipalities deal with it, that won’t work. All it would take is for religious communities to move to an area, vote their own in, then change the laws to suit them.

CITY’S LOST BEAUTY

Call me crazy, but has Ottawa’s mayor ever considered raising revenue through means other than yet another tax increase? How about actually using what is already law? There is a fine for littering or graffiti.

This city is no longer a beautiful place to visit. Once-beautiful streets and avenues have holes drilled into them to put up traffic-calming posts. And that, of course, leads to winter damage. Expansion and contraction lead to cracks and potholes. The weeds fill every crevice. It’s sad.
