The never-ending debate over the value of the CBC had me paying more attention to my viewing and listening time.

On radio, the hands-down winner was The Current with the superb and unbeatable Matt Galloway. His recent cross-country tour to big cities and small towns was so novel and innovative that it became “can’t miss” radio. The Current is a definite keeper.

Turning to television, watching The National had me so bored with the tired and repetitive At Issue panel that I am happily saying goodbye to Rosemary Barton (no one laughs more at their own quips than RB), Chantal Hébert, Andrew Coyne and Althia Raj. These four lack what The Current has in abundance, and their tired old tropes are known by viewers long before they’ve even spoken. It’s adios to At Issue.

However, always worth watching on The National is Adrienne Arsenault, who is just as superb and unbeatable as Matt Galloway. Two definite assets, for sure.

COMMUNISM, HERE WE COME

I’m not exaggerating when I say that I believe the Liberals are steering Canada towards communism. Think about it. They constantly harp on their “free” dental, pharma and child care. They’re now talking about a universal basic income. Why work when the taxpayers will support you? They’re fashioning bills that will censor your free speech and stomp on your rights.

Take a trip to Cuba to see how the government there controls its population if you want to get a sneak peek at where Canada is headed.

PM MAKING PIPELINE EXCUSES

Prime Minister Mark Carney doesn’t need the approval of B.C. or Quebec to build trans-Canada pipelines. By blaming them, it’s a gutless way to default on what he doesn’t want anyway (but pretended to want before the election).

We need a trans-Canada pipeline and we don’t need an industrial carbon tax.
