In Ontario, the world revolves around Toronto, and in Canada the world revolves around Quebec.

Enough is enough. There’s a very simple solution for this: If Quebec doesn’t want to be a contributing province within Canada, then it’s time we cut them off … end all transfer payments. Quebec is very rich in natural resources and can access them to pay for their own needs and wants. Why don’t they? The real question is why would they? It’s so much easier when they can get the rest of the country to use theirs and simply hand over billions to Quebec every year.

They are not and never have been a ” have-not province”. They are a welfare province, expecting others to look after them.

No pipelines, no transfer payments … bet you they would change their tune then. Frankly, it’s time to greatly curtail what they receive anyway; time for the gravy train to come to a full stop.

WHAT’S NEXT? THE TOILETS?

Re: ‘Boomerang lunches’ on the menu after blue box recycling in schools cancelled, online, Aug. 26

The cash-strapped school boards will no longer be providing recycling containers. Instead, they are forcing kids to take it back home so the parents can clean up the mess left in their lunch boxes.

So now parents can buy those little single-serving yogurts that come in recyclable containers and put it into a reusable container that needs to be cleaned nightly?

I believe they are currently in discussions to have the toilets removed, and kids can either hold it till they get home or use their lunch boxes that already require a good scrubbing.

MORE FOR UKRAINE?

Another $2 billion in support for Ukraine? Why, may I ask, are we funding this war when we don’t have the money? The more money thrown at this conflict, the less likely it is to stop. Donald Trump had it right when he stopped funding Ukraine and encouraged a diplomatic solution, which appears to be a dead end so far, but worth a try.

The longer this funding for Ukraine continues, the more likely there will be an escalation in the conflict. Ukraine must give up at least some territory to put an end to this conflict, but, aaah, they won’t.
