Do our votes count for nothing?
We vote in a Conservative and after all his campaigning he crosses over to become a Liberal. How shallow is that with no thought of the people who ejected him?
Two Conservative MPs have now crossed the floor to become Liberals. They were voted in as Conservatives and they should be forced to give up these seats now that they are Liberals. These seats were won as Conservative seats and should be filled by other Conservatives.

MUST BE BYELECTIONS
The idea of an elected member of Parliament crossing over to another political party is atrocious. Regardless of the involved political party, if a member wants to switch their allegiance, he or she should have to go through a byelection to be chosen again by their constituents.

SELF-SERVING POLITICIANS
In former Conservative MPs Chris d’Entremont and Michael Ma we have two of the most self-serving politicians totally devoid of ethics and morals. Both were elected by constituents who bought into Conservative policies they peddled. These constituents were then excluded from their floor-crossing decision and consequently have both have faced large protests in their ridings.

Ma even had the audacity to attend the Conservative Christmas party just before making the move to the Liberals. This speaks volumes about him.
No wonder so many politicians are viewed negatively. In order to stop this undemocratic “floor-crossing” process, anyone deciding this should have to resign, with a byelection immediately called. We must return the choice representatives to voters.
It appears Prime Minister Mark Carney will now secure his majority by the back door and not from the will of Canadian voters. Floor crossing is totally undemocratic.
