The Canadian Museum of History announced it closed for the day Tuesday due to a watermain break.

The break has occurred at the intersection of Laurier Street and Allumettières Boulevard, the museum said.

Services including the Panorama Café, Second Cup, CINÉ, the gift shop, the Canadian Children’s Museum and the parking garage were also closed, the museum said.

The City of Gatineau said on its website that detour signs would be put in place during repairs, and added crews were “hard at work to restore the situation as quickly as possible.”

Coloured water, a drop in pressure or water interruptions could be observed in the area around the water main break, the city said.
