The death of a woman whose body was found along a busy Brisbane bike path is not being considered suspicious, police say.
The woman was found on the Kedron Brook Bikeway in Lutwyche, in Brisbane’s inner-north, by a member of the public as the sun came up just before 6am on Monday.
Kedron Brook Bikeway was closed and emergency services were called to the scene.
“Initial investigations indicate that the woman’s death is non-suspicious,” a police spokesperson said on Monday morning.
Police later said the woman might have fallen and suffered a fatal injury while attempting to retrieve a dropped water bottle.
Investigators were preparing a report for the coroner.
About 600,000 cyclists, runners and walkers use the 20-kilometre bikeway that runs through 14 northern suburbs each year.
