FORT WORTH, Texas — Fort Worth voters decided on the fate of the city’s whole governing body Saturday, as the mayor and every single city council seat was on the ballot.

Mayor Mattie Parker sought re-election for her third term leading the city. But she faced a lot of competition, as seven other candidates vied for her seat: Josh Lucas, Alyson Kennedy, Lawrence E. Walker II, Millennium Anton C. Woods Jr., Chris Wood, Jeremy F. Labelle and Donnell Ballard.

District 2 council member Carlos Flores is seeking another term. Flores has held office since 2017, but he faced a challenge this year from candidate Joe Ponce Jr.

The District 3 race saw incumbent Michael D. Crain seek to win his third term on the council, but he faced a challenge from candidate Jason Ballmann.

District 4 council member Charlie Lauersdorf won his seat in the 2023 election. This year he sought re-election against candidate Teresa Ramirez.

There are six candidates running for the District 5 seat, but incumbent Council Member Gyna Bivens isn’t one of them. Voters chose between Kenneth Bowens Jr., Mary Kelleher, Deborah Peoples, Bob Willoughby, Michael Moore and Marvin Jose Diaz.

Four candidates are running for the District 6 seat. Incumbent council member Jared Williams chose not to run again. The candidates for the seat were Adrian Devine Smith, Marshall Hobbs, Mia Hall and Daryl R. Davis II.

District 7 council member Macy Hill is running unopposed this election. This will be her second term after she defeated two other candidates to win the seat in 2023.

Three candidates are vying for the District 8 seat, including incumbent council member Chris Nettles. This would be Nettles’ third term if re-elected. He first took office in 2021. He is running against candidates Arthur McCoy Jr. and Payton Jackson.

District 9 council member Elizabeth Beck ran for her third term since being elected in 2021. She faced two challengers, candidates Jenny Stewart and Michael Raulerson.

District 10 council member Alan Blaylock ran unopposed. This will be his second term since taking office in 2023.

The District 11 race saw incumbent Jeanette Martinez look to secure her second term against challenges from candidates Hilda Cuzco and Christopher Johnson.
