Man, 37, fatally wounded overnight on West Side​on January 24, 2025 at 2:00 pm

Chicago police said a 37-year-old man was fatally wounded Friday morning in a shooting in the Austin neighborhood on the West Side.

Shortly after 3:30 a.m., officers responded to a call of a person shot in the 4900 block of North Avenue and found a man inside a white SUV that had struck a wall.

The man had suffered two gunshot wounds to the chest, and was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

No one was in custody for the fatal shooting and detectives were investigating.
