A man is dead following a brawl that occurred outside a Calgary bar early Saturday morning and led to three possible stabbings, multiple foot chases involving the canine unit and street closures.

Calgary police were called to the 700 block of 10 Avenue S.W. at approximately 1:55 a.m. after receiving reports of what they described as a “large fight.”

Officers found numerous people who were injured. Two were taken to hospital — one was in a stable condition, while the other was declared dead on the scene. A third person with stab wounds soon arrived at hospital in a stable condition. Police are trying to confirming if the third person was a victim of the incident.

Multiple witnesses and suspects fled the area on foot before the police’s arrival. After numerous foot chases, four individuals were taken into custody. Police say investigators are now working to determine the involvement of these individuals in the incident.

An autopsy of the deceased has been scheduled with the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for Tuesday.
