MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – Deputies with the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office fatally shot a man they say was wanted for homicide.
The shooting happened late Monday night at the Extended Stay along northwest 7th street in Northwest Miami-Dade.
According to investigators, Miami-Dade homicide detectives were at the hotel conducting surveillance on a suspect involved in a fatal double shooting earlier that morning. Deputies say as they tried to arrest the man, there was an exchange of gunfire. The suspect died on scene.
No deputies were injured in the shooting and a gun was recovered from the man’s vehicle.
The Florida Department of Law Enforcement is now investigating the police shooting.
