An officer with the Miami-Dade Schools Police Department and a Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office deputy were both hurt in a crash Wednesday afternoon near Miami Northwestern Senior High School, authorities confirmed.
The crash occurred around 4:50 p.m. at the intersection of Northwest 10th Avenue and Northwest 67th Street in northwest Miami-Dade when an on-duty MDSO Robbery Intervention Detail deputy collided with a school officer’s marked unit, investigators said.
Detective Argemis Colome, a spokesman for the MDSO, said Miami Fire Rescue crews responded and transported both individuals to Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Ryder Trauma Center, where they are expected to make a full recovery.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation and no other details have been immediately released at this time.
