A 45-year-old man is dead after the motorcycle he was riding struck the Calder Community League in Edmonton, police said Saturday.

On Friday at 11:30 p.m., officers said they responded to a report about a 2012 Yamaha Cruiser motorcycle that “collided with the side of” a building near 128 Avenue and 120 Street.

The motorcycle was “travelling at a high rate of speed” east on 128 Avenue toward 120 Street, according to police, adding they believe speed was a factor in the crash.

EMS responded and pronounced the man dead on scene, officers said.
