At about 4:30 p.m. Saturday, police responded to reports of gunshots in a parking garage in the 8700 block of Horton Road S.W.

“Upon arrival, police and emergency services personnel located a woman in her 20s suffering from what appeared to be gunshot wounds,” CPS said in an early-evening media release. “Despite lifesaving efforts, the woman was declared deceased at the scene.”

Police added the incident is believed to be targeted. No one is in custody and the investigation is ongoing.

An autopsy has been scheduled for Tuesday.
