Could Saoirse Ronan’s other half, Jack Lowden, be in the running to play one of the most iconic literary characters of all time?
Speculation is rife that the Slow Horses actor is in talks to star in a widely anticipated Netflix period drama.
Jack, who tied the knot with Saoirse in July 2024, has been linked with the forthcoming Pride and Prejudice series.

It’s been reported that the actor is being lined up to play romantic hero Mr. Darcy, a role first made famous on screen by Colin Firth in the Nineties, followed by Matthew MacFadyen a decade later.
The role has also been played by Laurence Olivier and Peter Cushing over the past century.
Variety reports that Jack, whose name has also been mentioned in the chatter surrounding the next James Bond, has been approached to pick up the mantle, but the casting hasn’t been confirmed to date.
The character, which was dreamed into being by Jane Austen in 1813, engages in a tempestuous relationship with Elizabeth Bennet and has remained one of the most enduring literary figures of all time.
While Netflix hasn’t shared any info on the casting, Normal People’s Daisy Edgar Jones is touted to take on the role of Elizabeth.
The latest take on the story is being penned by Dolly Alderton.
News of Jack’s potential casting in Pride and Prejudice comes as Saoirse is set to star in and produce the film adaptation of Holly Brickley’s Deep Cuts.
